[00:00:00] This is Yotide Badaki, and you're listening to Open Pike Night.

[00:00:04] This whole podcast is out of order.

[00:00:52] This is the meeting of my co-hosts.

[00:00:54] The man who just keeps adding fake ribbons to his formal dress, uniform and pretty

[00:00:59] sure, as far as I can tell he's king of Starfleet and a cling on God.

[00:01:04] Jesse Bailey.

[00:01:05] But the cling on slew their gods, so they needed new ones.

[00:01:10] And the man who turned his back on his people to try and fit in in another world.

[00:01:14] But unlike Una, he was welcomed and brought many of his people with him.

[00:01:18] Must be that Elaskan privilege.

[00:01:19] Host of Greenshirt, a newbie stretch the next generation?

[00:01:22] Cameron.

[00:01:23] Portland, Oregon isn't completely populated by former Alaskans yet?

[00:01:27] But it's a start.

[00:01:28] It's a start.

[00:01:31] And tonight we have a fantastic guest on the Open Pike Night stage.

[00:01:35] A performer with a presence full of so much gravity she caused to sing your larity with her

[00:01:40] performance as a lary and powerhouse attorney near a coutoule in the Star Trek Strange

[00:01:44] New Worlds episode at Astre, Peraspera.

[00:01:47] She was so fantastic and a role as a passionate defender that we didn't even notice when

[00:01:52] she stole the show.

[00:01:54] Welcome, Yatita Badochita, Open Pike Night.

[00:01:57] Thank you for having me and I must say live long and prosper y'all.

[00:02:02] Oh, fantastic.

[00:02:03] And I enjoyed that line too much, but obviously everybody noticed when you stole the show.

[00:02:10] So fantastic work.

[00:02:11] As you'll hear tonight.

[00:02:13] You were too kind, too, too kind.

[00:02:15] You know, as you said, as you know, for me it's always such a pleasure when I can talk

[00:02:21] Star Trek, do Star Trek, anything Star Trek.

[00:02:24] I can't even talk.

[00:02:24] I'm so excited about Star Trek.

[00:02:27] Fantastic.

[00:02:28] We know that feeling.

[00:02:29] Well, let's head back a little before Star Trek then.

[00:02:31] Maybe let you collect yourself.

[00:02:33] How did you get the acting bug?

[00:02:35] Where did that come from?

[00:02:37] Oh, how much time do you have?

[00:02:39] Yeah, because this goes all the way back, literally to being a young girl in Nigeria.

[00:02:46] And I have a very large family.

[00:02:49] My grandfather and my father's side had quite a few wives and on average they had quite a few

[00:02:54] children.

[00:02:55] So, you know, basically was a village.

[00:02:57] A little of people, which meant we always had people coming through the house and a lot

[00:03:01] of elders coming through the house.

[00:03:03] And the power would go out quite often in Nigeria at that time.

[00:03:07] Hi, guys.

[00:03:08] And I'll get to you then.

[00:03:09] We had a generator.

[00:03:10] It's been a long journey, guys.

[00:03:12] It's so cool to kind of swim in.

[00:03:13] Well, the guests on this awesome podcast at night, they've got to actually add

[00:03:18] all the other things that seem to have no feedback.

[00:03:20] But story.

[00:03:21] All I want to say and I just said, the front and I have a pile.

[00:03:24] It's really appreciate what I've done.

[00:03:26] You wrote a lot of your reports.

[00:03:27] Storytelling, it's very, very exciting.

[00:03:30] That's how we call it if we need that.

[00:03:32] I just knew I wanted to do that.

[00:03:34] I didn't know the speed was that much more.

[00:03:36] Wow.

[00:03:37] That was terrific.

[00:03:39] It was sunny and amazing.

[00:03:40] I want to talk to them about.

[00:03:42] So the first time I got off to you, go up on a field like this.

[00:03:45] It's been off, can we?

[00:03:46] Learn all our stuff for pedicants.

[00:03:49] That's a fascinating game.

[00:03:49] We're taking two kindergarteners, maybe the last one.

[00:03:52] The two of them, both strive and that you have to do that.

[00:03:55] That's a first time.

[00:03:56] I'm going to pass that.

[00:03:57] Well, it was just amazing seeing it on this.

[00:03:59] That's the thing.

[00:04:00] I really would like to talk to you about my twin work.

[00:04:02] I have a long relationship with it.

[00:04:04] Thank you for bringing this awesome character to us.

[00:04:06] That's great.

[00:04:07] And that's awesome for the future.

[00:04:09] And that's a long process.

[00:04:11] And on and you know I always make that correlation to from that first moment by

[00:04:15] the fire to also that first moment, that we were in the living room then watching.

[00:04:22] Hey open.

[00:04:22] I should have another one.

[00:04:23] I should have another one.

[00:04:23] First of all I want to say, that extra person is a classic.

[00:04:30] And I think it's going to be high in the right.

[00:04:33] And that's where my liberal role is.

[00:04:36] I want to see this come because I said, but what I really understood that there couldn't

[00:04:39] be no surprise in the open pipe.

[00:04:43] You know, have them because I always love these two.

[00:04:45] But the questioning in this episode besides possibly being my favorite.

[00:04:50] It was there.

[00:04:51] I want to hear as I'm sure.

[00:04:55] Could you talk a little bit about the costume and how it helps you find your character.

[00:04:59] Yeah, I miss remembering guys.

[00:05:00] Wasn't, let's not be as one of her first acting gigs a Peter Pan school play.

[00:05:06] I think so.

[00:05:07] I think that was her first.

[00:05:08] Well of course.

[00:05:10] Of course we all started you know anyone worth their songs started with Peter Pan.

[00:05:14] That's right.

[00:05:16] That's what my career is missing.

[00:05:17] No Peter Pan.

[00:05:18] No Peter Pan.

[00:05:20] Well from Peter Pan you did eventually make your way onto our TV screens.

[00:05:25] I wanted to talk about one of your first roles.

[00:05:28] I think it was one of your first ones.

[00:05:29] Oh, you're my favorite.

[00:05:30] Welcome to the show.

[00:05:31] You know you did one scene with what great meaning you had to talk about.

[00:05:34] Oh my god.

[00:05:35] Oh my god.

[00:05:36] Oh, yeah that's what taught me my unique.

[00:05:38] The guys recently, I got a book.

[00:05:40] It means you brought me on a segment for that one.

[00:05:43] And for me, and I asked for it.

[00:05:45] And you will miss me.

[00:05:47] Really?

[00:05:47] It was a long historical episode.

[00:05:50] The shape of a cartoon.

[00:05:51] It's hard question.

[00:05:52] On an important subject.

[00:05:54] It's a great episode.

[00:05:54] Everyone has a huge title.

[00:05:57] You're starting out as an actor.

[00:05:59] None.

[00:05:59] More than a year of working for the inclusion of the people.

[00:06:02] I thought they were going to some how he was acknowledged.

[00:06:06] A bit of convincing people.

[00:06:07] She does that.

[00:06:08] It's such an impressive style for sure.

[00:06:11] And we're watching this episode that still gives me a chance.

[00:06:14] No, no, no.

[00:06:15] You do a lot.

[00:06:15] A message that another student or you fear in different cities.

[00:06:20] We should not only accept but maybe even celebrate them.

[00:06:23] Because there's something I do understand.

[00:06:25] And I believe in nervous.

[00:06:28] So we're casting crew who already set such a high bar on strings or world.

[00:06:31] Every time you hit hit hit.

[00:06:33] And ask for you, you brought a powerful person.

[00:06:34] You just be hilarious.

[00:06:36] Push that button.

[00:06:36] And then it's up higher.

[00:06:37] And then he's got that.

[00:06:39] Well, you get the stand.

[00:06:39] You're again on the show.

[00:06:41] Thank you.

[00:06:42] It was just really.

[00:06:44] It was wonderful master.

[00:06:45] It was such a beautiful introduction of the world.

[00:06:48] And being a nerd, you know, you're going listen anything genre.

[00:06:52] Yes, please.

[00:06:52] Thank you.

[00:06:54] Well, I know you said it's blink and you miss it.

[00:06:56] But when I looked it up and realized what episode it was,

[00:06:58] I was like, I bet I know which character she was.

[00:07:01] And I re-watch it.

[00:07:02] And I think it's because it's three lines.

[00:07:06] But it's one of the classic time travel exchange.

[00:07:09] So if I may have a geek moment, you'd be able to play a little scene here.

[00:07:13] Not the exact scene, but the type of scene it is.

[00:07:16] What's the date?

[00:07:19] September 20th.

[00:07:21] What year?

[00:07:25] $2,000 in.

[00:07:29] What year?

[00:07:31] You understand that's over.

[00:07:36] That was a moment for me.

[00:07:38] Thank you.

[00:07:38] That is just one of those classic scenes in every time travel story.

[00:07:42] And you got to be part of it.

[00:07:43] You got to be that part.

[00:07:44] To be a part of it.

[00:07:46] And you play it perfectly.

[00:07:47] So people can come back, check me.

[00:07:49] No, no, that's not the date.

[00:07:51] That's not what you said to him.

[00:07:54] But you know what, I'm actually a part of that I was like, wait, no, that sounds familiar.

[00:07:58] I think.

[00:08:00] Are you right into the accident?

[00:08:02] Everything I was about to say.

[00:08:05] The last.

[00:08:05] The last.

[00:08:06] But yeah, thank you for that.

[00:08:07] That sounds good.

[00:08:08] Nice trip down.

[00:08:09] Really.

[00:08:10] Well, we'll take some more trips.

[00:08:12] Dance some of your other acting roles too.

[00:08:13] But I do want to put stuff real quick.

[00:08:16] You wrote and starred in a short film that you funded in Hollywood land.

[00:08:21] I believe it's the name.

[00:08:23] What can you tell us about about that?

[00:08:25] And if it's available to view anywhere, I tried finding it.

[00:08:28] Right.

[00:08:29] So I mean, there are some exciting discussions happening.

[00:08:31] So people.

[00:08:33] I want to say.

[00:08:35] It may take a few years depending on what's happening with this company.

[00:08:39] But you'll have something you should be able to view it.

[00:08:42] But this was when I was shooting American gods.

[00:08:48] And actually, I was also shooting.

[00:08:51] Okay.

[00:08:52] I can tell you this story.

[00:08:54] Side, you know, non-secretor.

[00:08:56] But it actually does climb back in.

[00:08:59] I was shooting American gods into Rontel.

[00:09:02] I had decided to make this short with some incredible performers.

[00:09:08] Jessica, Sherry, also directed it.

[00:09:12] Dominic Burgess was going to, which, you know, if you know, Jean Roy, he's been and pretty much everything that's amazing.

[00:09:17] It's going to be like my assistant, you as a cinema.

[00:09:20] So Richard said, I didn't imagine all the directors and the partners in the park.

[00:09:25] And I thought we were going to shoot this thing in our life.

[00:09:27] The fabulous.

[00:09:28] And I'm coming from to the absolute, just finishing the crowd of people.

[00:09:32] You can get to the wedding, get into the meeting for this.

[00:09:35] So going to costume when this is done.

[00:09:37] You have famous to the get back.

[00:09:39] The first thing in the morning.

[00:09:41] God, we shoot today's straight story.

[00:09:43] And you can finish the late 80s Hollywood land.

[00:09:48] Now considering the morning Monday, I'm on set in this week.

[00:09:50] I can't help but wonder.

[00:09:52] Then I'm hopping on a plane and I'm trying back to the show.

[00:09:57] And the new to store from the X-me time I've ever had to film in my life.

[00:10:02] Because I was supposed to shoot that morning and I was like,

[00:10:04] The fan has taken a very good look.

[00:10:05] Next thing I know, there's an icon like you.

[00:10:08] And I'm going to, and there's me like, not how much it's written on the bed.

[00:10:13] Like I was talking to the fan.

[00:10:14] I had to be in God for that.

[00:10:15] It's working on my mind.

[00:10:17] You know, I like them.

[00:10:20] And it seems when a producer come and get me.

[00:10:23] Because I had, falling asleep was not responding to the phone calls or on the space.

[00:10:27] My body will get done.

[00:10:29] Yeah.

[00:10:30] They understood because I'm all in early.

[00:10:33] It's not time.

[00:10:34] So they went as soon as they didn't hear back.

[00:10:35] They were going to be like, something new.

[00:10:37] We need to go.

[00:10:39] So I didn't ask you to talk to my crew member.

[00:10:43] I'm going to have this conversation.

[00:10:45] If it was a member, any of that.

[00:10:47] Richard's in there.

[00:10:48] I remember clearly.

[00:10:51] The body never forgets that kind of thing.

[00:10:57] But in Hollywood Land was wonderful in so many ways.

[00:11:00] It was something I had written about a lot of experiences I'd heard of different actresses,

[00:11:06] different women in entertainment.

[00:11:09] Some of my experiences thrown in there too and how it can go much seem like you're going

[00:11:14] down the rabbit hole.

[00:11:16] And some very absurd things occur when you speak them out loud.

[00:11:21] You're like, that's kind of absurd.

[00:11:23] You were shooting in Toronto and you went to that ballet.

[00:11:28] I mean, that's just the lighter side of it.

[00:11:31] But it was a short where I got to explore that.

[00:11:34] And it was something I had written back in my struggle after years where I felt, you know,

[00:11:41] I needed to be creative.

[00:11:43] I needed to as I was not getting a work at that time.

[00:11:48] I needed to let it out.

[00:11:50] So to be able to come together with this incredible team to bring forward this again,

[00:11:55] what is genre as we're kind of following Alice in Wonderland a little bit.

[00:12:01] You see a theme here with me.

[00:12:05] So we got, yeah, we got to make that and we've been discussions that are happening.

[00:12:10] People should be able to be publicly seen.

[00:12:13] I don't want to say an exact date yet.

[00:12:16] It's a lot of fun to light up the exact number.

[00:12:19] Thanks for asking about that.

[00:12:21] It's fantastic.

[00:12:21] You know, Trecky's aren't really worried about, you know, small details, right?

[00:12:27] Yeah, or waiting till an unspecified date for something new to come out.

[00:12:32] So yeah, where we're all used to that.

[00:12:34] I love it.

[00:12:36] We do have some great Trecky's who called in.

[00:12:39] Hey, I'm sure glad to date.

[00:12:41] I'm sure glad to date.

[00:12:42] So for some words, Dr. Fummer's show Michelle.

[00:12:44] We had a fantastic conversation when I had the privilege to meet her at Treck Long Island.

[00:12:49] And we discussed Star Trek the next generation in-depth.

[00:12:55] She is a Treck fan legit and it's just great to geek out and vibe with someone who's also been a part of the franchise.

[00:13:05] So thank you for that awesome conversation.

[00:13:08] And I, for my money, add Astro Persevera, that is right up there with TNG's measure of a man.

[00:13:15] If not surpassing it.

[00:13:17] So that was a great episode.

[00:13:18] And I hope that we see more of you in strange new worlds and maybe just in Star Trek, that would be great.

[00:13:25] I also realized that you were in this is us, which was a show that I really enjoyed.

[00:13:31] And as well as NCIS New Orleans, another franchise that I do watch, which for that show, Scott Backello was the lead.

[00:13:39] And we also know Scott Backello was Captain Archer in Enterprise.

[00:13:43] So I'm interested if you have any memories of working with Scott or in general on that show.

[00:13:52] And I really look forward to hearing what's up next to you.

[00:13:55] Thanks so much guys and also finally my Crusher connection.

[00:13:58] Of course, is that awesome conversation I had with you today about TNG.

[00:14:03] Doctor Crusher of course came up.

[00:14:04] I would love to hear her thoughts and I want to know, has she seen Star Trek Picard?

[00:14:09] And Doctor Crusher now.

[00:14:12] Anyhow, that's all for me. Live long and prosper.

[00:14:15] Live long and prosper.

[00:14:19] Wow. I mean, incredible, incredible questions.

[00:14:24] Yes, Scott Backello. Oh my gosh, the things I have to say about that now.

[00:14:29] Again, that little girl in Nigeria was watching him on quantum leek.

[00:14:33] And I mean, he was, that was a talk about master class.

[00:14:38] What he did every week was just brilliant and I really do think if we had been at a time that took a genre a little more seriously.

[00:14:47] He wouldn't have been up for so many more awards.

[00:14:52] And so yes, getting to actually meet him, you know how they say, oh, never meet your heroes?

[00:14:57] Meet your heroes. Meet them because they're wonderful, incredible human beings.

[00:15:03] He was such a classy human being.

[00:15:07] He was always looking out for everybody on that set, including how could he include someone that was an extra like

[00:15:15] Throw a line at them as a certain way that then uplift their standing for that day so that they get pain differently.

[00:15:21] And this is a man that, you know, has been doing this for how many years he has how many things he has to memorize and all of that.

[00:15:31] But he knew everybody's name shaking everybody's hand last out of the, you know, travel card a set because he's helping people out doing all of this.

[00:15:42] Not changing even his position on the call sheet where, you know, technically you should be number one.

[00:15:47] So to speak, but he's going, I understand what currency that can be for somebody.

[00:15:52] I've had that.

[00:15:53] I'm going to put somebody else there.

[00:15:55] I mean, how classy is that?

[00:15:58] So the only thing I remember, I mean, well, the only thing or the many things I remember is just what a class act he was and how he made me want to be as an actor on set.

[00:16:10] I wanted, I want people to come off an experience the same way that I did coming off saying, I just met my childhood hero and he's amazing.

[00:16:23] I have seen start record because of trekkie.

[00:16:26] I've not finished it yet.

[00:16:28] I do this thing sometimes with shows I love.

[00:16:31] I'll go through a couple of episodes and then I'll save it for a very rainy day and then I'm going now I can sit down and just go through.

[00:16:40] Something I really enjoy. So I haven't finished it yet.

[00:16:44] Dang away from most people's spoilers.

[00:16:47] Did see it some t-engine coming back and there, which made my heart so happy.

[00:16:53] And I mean, Beverly Crusher of course you got a love Beverly and engage McFadden who plays her is just so lovely.

[00:17:02] Had to deal with me gushing at Star Trek Las Vegas.

[00:17:06] I'm making a hardly being coherent because there was Beverly Crusher and I just had a teller how much it meant to me everything that she's done and everything that she's doing.

[00:17:20] That was a wonderful flashback you love thank you.

[00:17:23] Yes, that's so sorry. Nice.

[00:17:26] If you have to go we understand.

[00:17:29] But before you do, let's hear from another one of our great collars here is Zo.

[00:17:35] Open Pike Night. This is the USS Cinema Zo Richardson Captain Commanding also host out back with Cinema, the podcast and I'd also like to welcome the fabulous and the absolutely incredibly talented you today but docky.

[00:17:53] So, you're today. You have famously portrayed a new leased-erne goddess as well as an extraordinarily accomplished space living in the world.

[00:18:05] Now, considering the rules that you chose in her, I can't help but wonder if you would consider playing a mutant specifically the mutant storm from the X-Men.

[00:18:18] The fans are speaking and they say that you would make a fantastic version of storm.

[00:18:24] I can't help but wonder what you think about such a thing.

[00:18:29] Not really a question just my endorsement of this particular fan cast and also so I got a situation over here.

[00:18:37] It seems that one of my crewmen might need to services of a space litigator.

[00:18:46] Yeah, we're talking to her.

[00:18:50] When you talk about, you need a lawyer. You're in trouble.

[00:18:57] Look, I didn't actually talk to my crewmen before I came up.

[00:19:01] I'm going to have this conversation if I don't get back to you.

[00:19:05] Richardson out.

[00:19:10] Well, whenever you need a lawyer in space, you know who to call.

[00:19:17] Seriously, you all have some of the best questions right now.

[00:19:22] But with the best fans, I think this is why I love trekkies.

[00:19:25] We get it. We get it all, including the fact that I would love to play the part of storm.

[00:19:32] I would love to be the hedari out. I would love it's just that was one.

[00:19:40] We keep having flashbacks, but that was one of the first, I remember those cartoons when I first moved to the state.

[00:19:46] Saturday morning.

[00:19:48] I'm watching with my kid right now.

[00:19:50] Oh, so good. So, so good.

[00:19:53] And there is just, she's such a layer of character and there's so much there.

[00:20:00] And I would really like to see, and talk to you, Marble.

[00:20:04] I would really like to see a stand alone storm film where we get into her story.

[00:20:12] And I mean, she is one of the most powerful mutants of the mega level threat over there.

[00:20:17] You know?

[00:20:18] And also watch the new one, then 97.

[00:20:22] Oh man.

[00:20:23] So good.

[00:20:25] I mean, I was sitting there on the couch after one of the episodes.

[00:20:29] So I'm going, why am I crying right now? I'm watching the cartoon.

[00:20:34] It's just so, so wonderful.

[00:20:37] And that's just, and the fans are calling for it myself included of getting into her story.

[00:20:43] And you know, I might know a thing or two about Aurora Monroe.

[00:20:50] So, you know, it would be a quick study if you put me in coach.

[00:20:57] I'll sign the petition.

[00:20:59] Yeah, we'll see, see, we'll see, see, fight on this episode released.

[00:21:03] Yes, let's do.

[00:21:04] Let's do.

[00:21:06] We'll see if you can get a fan casting.

[00:21:08] I just have to ask, I've heard, maybe this is wrong, but from what you've been talking about so far.

[00:21:13] I don't think it is that you're also a Lord of the Rings fan.

[00:21:16] What sort of middle-earth character would you love to play if given the chance?

[00:21:20] Ooh, I think I want to be an L.

[00:21:24] I think I want to, yeah, I mean, you know, as complicated as that can be, right?

[00:21:31] Those L's.

[00:21:32] They got some issues.

[00:21:34] Those are some issues.

[00:21:35] Yeah, this is one or two.

[00:21:37] The bookings are the forest.

[00:21:38] I know.

[00:21:40] They are literally the Vulcan.

[00:21:41] But I also want to play a Vulcan.

[00:21:43] Maybe that's why I want to play out my Vulcan Dreams fan and out in Lord of the Rings.

[00:21:49] But, you know, if they were calling with pretty much any role, I'd like listen up.

[00:21:53] I put on the Hobbit feet, what do you need?

[00:21:55] What do you need?

[00:21:57] What do you need?

[00:21:58] Yeah, yeah.

[00:21:59] And I think you all know that I love to read.

[00:22:02] And that was, you know, these are the books of my childhood.

[00:22:05] You know, getting to play in that world, which is just so much fun.

[00:22:09] Don't much fun.

[00:22:10] Well, we'll lead to the world of Star Trek here.

[00:22:12] We know, obviously, you've told us and told plenty of fans that you're a huge trekky before landing on strange new worlds.

[00:22:19] And that TNG is where you started.

[00:22:21] Would you consider that your home trek like the trek you, you always would go back to if you, if you needed to?

[00:22:28] Yeah, it is definitely my home trek.

[00:22:31] I like the way you put it.

[00:22:32] So also the entry point.

[00:22:34] I think it's the same with Dr. Hu, right?

[00:22:37] Everyone, whoever they entered with is usually their doctor.

[00:22:41] And then, you love every other generation, but you also cry when your ears is going.

[00:22:48] But next generation was my end and I just remember all of those individuals that I was actually talking about this was someone in quite specifically about how there was something in each character.

[00:23:02] That resonated to me. I wanted to be as empathetic as Diana, you know, I wanted to be as confident as writer.

[00:23:09] I want to be wanted to be as morally centered as the car that we're as intelligent as Beverly, to have the integrity of who you know, the unmonner, right?

[00:23:21] All of these things just I saw an aspect in each of these characters that I wanted to take on.

[00:23:29] And I wanted to, I wanted to get on that ship with those people like go to places.

[00:23:35] You know, there there was a business class executive class ship because you know they would traveling comfortably.

[00:23:44] Oh man.

[00:23:46] Those were some nice spaces and just the curiosity, you know, the curiosity of Wesley.

[00:23:53] And this is the conversation that people are probably tired of me going on and on about it.

[00:23:59] But being in New York right now, in UN Futures, we is actually really relevant in that it was a future where we weren't destroyed.

[00:24:08] You know, it was a future where it wasn't another wasteland.

[00:24:12] Where there was hope of something, you know, positive happening.

[00:24:17] And I think it's so important to see that in our storytelling.

[00:24:23] It's so important that we mirror that back to ourselves and not only think, oh well, you know, everything's just going to hell on you.

[00:24:30] You know, having that kind of youth way.

[00:24:32] And it's been really cool to meet all the fans and fans in the most interesting places.

[00:24:40] One's a senator, one's, you know, the judge from some of the highest courts.

[00:24:46] And also to hear their origin stories and the influences of Star Trek are moving into their field.

[00:24:54] And also taking on the ideas that Star Trek gave us of rod and bearing specifically wanting us to have the idea of being able to grow up.

[00:25:05] And to do better and to evolve.

[00:25:08] So it's, yes, that's a long way of answering your question but next generation was my thing.

[00:25:15] Now it's a great answer. After, you know, after so many years of being a fan, you've finally got to be a part of it.

[00:25:21] Was there like a single moment more than others that hit you just the I'm in Star Trek moment? Like was there one, you can remember where it just hit you.

[00:25:32] It might be unsuspected and unexpected, but it was when I went on the transporter.

[00:25:40] Because that's such a core, dark trek thing.

[00:25:45] And I was standing on there and I said, energize, I start choking up.

[00:25:51] But I can't believe I'm here right now.

[00:25:54] Being able to say energize and you know probably disappearing and don't hold much of different part of it all of that.

[00:26:00] But but that was a moment that really landed you are in Star Trek.

[00:26:08] Was there a moment where your body thought you were about to be energized?

[00:26:12] I was ready.

[00:26:14] I could have swore it might have happened.

[00:26:17] I'm sure if you talked to everyone on set that was a minute where I was not there.

[00:26:21] Just a little disappointment after I was still standing there.

[00:26:24] Still standing here, still standing here.

[00:26:27] But so excited to be standing there and it was just yeah that it that not hit me in a way that I did even understand it would.

[00:26:36] That's awesome.

[00:26:37] If I may having just finished watching that episode again when your character says energize to leave,

[00:26:44] I think some of that emotion came through because it is, I mean it is powerful.

[00:26:49] It's such a weird sci-fi word, right?

[00:26:53] But you deliver it in this way that is just subtle and perfect.

[00:26:58] Yeah I'm a big fan of Star Trek in general as we all three are but I'm generally the gushie one so I'm going to try and keep it strapped down for this.

[00:27:08] Don't do try and do the TV.

[00:27:10] You're actually pretty big.

[00:27:13] So as far as you know, you've talked with a lot of fans, what are the biggest differences between American gods fans and trickings?

[00:27:22] That is interesting.

[00:27:23] I mean, I think most people would agree that it's just more about the amount of time that that fandom has had to grow, right?

[00:27:37] American gods fans, it's quote unquote younger than a Star Trek fandom.

[00:27:47] So I would say that would be the biggest difference and with with with trekkies, I mean as you pointed out there are things that we already know like we know we go into all those details in such a way.

[00:28:02] There's a little more space, I think, with American gods for interpretation because it is a little more fantasy, right?

[00:28:12] There is science fiction in it as well but there's a little more fantastical element.

[00:28:17] But what everyone has in common is their love of the subject matter, the love of genre because many do come to hop over.

[00:28:28] There's a shared passion between the fandom.

[00:28:31] Now I haven't seen American gods yet, and I was going to ask you that kind of pitch it because it's on the list it just hasn't quite risen there's so much out there right now.

[00:28:40] But I was a fan of the book, have you had a chance to meet Neil Gaiman?

[00:28:45] I have, and I'm always a fan of great literature.

[00:28:50] I actually, I think Ian McShan, because we're both we brothers.

[00:28:59] I mean, I saw, I didn't mean to name jump.

[00:29:03] I was dropping in there.

[00:29:05] I did not mean to name drop but it's you know working with such caliber or talent.

[00:29:13] Sorry, I should say sorry, Ian McShan, I'm not sure it's actually been minded but in my mind.

[00:29:18] Yeah, he is. He is and just getting the opportunity to work with someone like that who I've looked up to for very long time and to work with people like Whistman Glover who that man is fascinating.

[00:29:32] The first time we spent a good amount of time together was on a plane and I literally met him with a kitchen sink like he had a kitchen sink on his lap.

[00:29:41] I think he's like, I don't know.

[00:29:45] But if you be Chrisman, it's on brand.

[00:29:49] That's how he, yeah, he's such a wonderful artistic soul and as soon as he knows we have a scene together, it's emails back and forth.

[00:29:59] Here are ideas, I have it.

[00:30:01] And what are your ideas?

[00:30:02] And then you also have where where you're playing, you get to play with him on set and you get to actually play because he wants to get in and get into the meat of the scene and try to know kinds of different angles.

[00:30:17] And then you get here from him at one point and he'll be like, oh that was really good right?

[00:30:20] That was good.

[00:30:22] You know, he's just purely experiencing the art.

[00:30:28] It's so incredible to be able to do that with him and then now I'm just going to go about everybody and then of course Emily, oh Emily, I love that woman.

[00:30:38] She is fierce, she's intelligent, she's so talented and people forget because of the age that she's been doing this pretty much like longer than most people.

[00:30:49] Because if you remember her from what was it, let me flick it as a child.

[00:30:54] You know, she's been doing this for such a long time and has such a beautiful understanding of the way that scenes work and then Pablo.

[00:31:06] If you had told me the one that I'd be most in touch with and it's to me, I'm like, he's just what I'm my favorite people in the world.

[00:31:12] He's just a big teddy bear.

[00:31:13] You really, it's sorry, Pablo. I have to say it.

[00:31:18] Because you know he told, it's all the most people people are always surprised.

[00:31:22] I'm surprised every time I see him how tall he is.

[00:31:26] And then it's also being a big muscular too.

[00:31:28] People don't understand that if the sweet, sweet human at the center of that and he has always looked out for me.

[00:31:34] And I always continues to and that man has one of the biggest parts of anyone I know.

[00:31:40] And of course, Rick, he improves the way I look how you ask me this one question and then I start talking about everything.

[00:31:49] Well, we had him and he got at some point so yeah, yeah.

[00:31:53] But wonderful people are not even very lucky.

[00:31:56] So moving specifically into ad Astra Perespera, your character is introduced to us in a position of power.

[00:32:04] Over Captain Pike. And then proceeds to run the show for its duration.

[00:32:12] What, like what does it feel like?

[00:32:14] What were your initial reactions to the script when you're discovering, oh, I'm the star of this episode.

[00:32:21] Well first off, I mean, listen, you're surrounded by a room of stars.

[00:32:28] I listen, and to the mountain, Rebecca, Romaine, come on, Dalia, Melissa, Christina, Jess Ethan, Babs.

[00:32:40] You're just surrounded by star power.

[00:32:43] You're surrounded by consummate professionals and incredibly talented actors.

[00:32:49] So you're going, I think it's bring my game because you can't be showing up.

[00:32:54] You know, try to figure out your lines or not bringing it because they're bringing it every single time.

[00:33:03] Dana Horgan, who wrote this script, did do something really brilliant because it was also a kind of jab and tongue and cheek.

[00:33:13] And oh, I also have to talk about Melanie because another one of my favorite people in the world.

[00:33:19] We will send means to each other like 24, seven.

[00:33:24] It would bother us that you know that thing where you send it, you're sitting across from each other and you send one and you're like waiting for them to see the mean.

[00:33:31] And then they crack off, oh dear.

[00:33:32] Right.

[00:33:35] So Melanie is one of my favorite people, but you know her character when she talked to a cheek says I believe this is star track reflecting on itself when she says to Pike, you got to sit this one out.

[00:33:48] No passionate speeches for you.

[00:33:51] Right, it was very, very smart and it was very, very pointed that Dana Horgan in her writing was brilliant.

[00:33:59] And so many ways including that one.

[00:34:03] So reading the script because I didn't get to read it before they cast me with all the NDAs.

[00:34:10] And it was early situate. I'm already sent in who had a cast me who had also cast me and spoke with the American gods.

[00:34:20] And they had sent this as an offer we can't tell you more, but you're going to love this character.

[00:34:26] It's a struggle.

[00:34:27] I'm so glad I trusted them reading the script.

[00:34:30] I last I cried.

[00:34:31] I did it all.

[00:34:31] It was just so beautifully written and that's when you sit there and look, this is gold.

[00:34:39] And I get to play with this with this group of people.

[00:34:43] There's a lot of joy.

[00:34:44] I know those brief mention of the, you know, brief, static moment where you're going how much do I have to say?

[00:34:54] But there's just the joy of getting to say these things.

[00:34:57] And this is the mark I think and I'm not the only one that says this.

[00:35:01] I think someone like Kate Landschette says this.

[00:35:04] I'm just going to say Kate Landschette because we all respect her acting.

[00:35:06] So it came from her.

[00:35:09] But I believe she also said that there's something about great writing that it somehow sticks in your head a lot easier.

[00:35:20] Where writing is, you know, maybe still finding it's where you will find at least I find as an actor.

[00:35:27] It will take me like an hour to memorize three or four lines because I'm just going to wait.

[00:35:32] Wait, what's happening?

[00:35:33] What's going on?

[00:35:34] But when someone has written something so beautifully, it's like your body just wants to absorb it.

[00:35:41] It just, you know, it wants to take it in and it wants to retain it.

[00:35:45] And that was Dana's work.

[00:35:47] The, you know, Oregon just did something brilliant here and I really would like her to get more of her flowers for that moment.

[00:35:54] I love it.

[00:35:55] We will reach out.

[00:35:56] We love talking to the writers.

[00:35:57] And to your point, I mean, in, in Simkin and Siduitz, we trust like we said.

[00:36:06] We spoke about that.

[00:36:07] We were like, oh, we owe you the world because they really put together an insanely amazing cast.

[00:36:16] So we have seen this sort of litigation episode before in Star Trek.

[00:36:22] You know, we've got the court Marshall and the original series.

[00:36:25] Data's day or sorry, not data's day.

[00:36:27] The measure of a man should be pretty energy.

[00:36:30] So how did you prepare for this role?

[00:36:32] Had you play in a lawyer before or was it like, you know, I'm going to look at the Star Trek version of this sort of,

[00:36:38] you know, how did you go about that?

[00:36:39] That's the great thing about having passions, right?

[00:36:43] That's the great thing.

[00:36:44] One thing I always say to people that nothing is wasted because how many times have I watched those episodes?

[00:36:50] How many times have I watched measure of a man?

[00:36:53] Right, just for fun.

[00:36:54] And then they're going, oh, you want me to do something like that?

[00:36:57] Oh, let me see if I can pull something off.

[00:37:00] The reference.

[00:37:02] So I don't already watch those.

[00:37:04] I already seen those and as I was reading it and as we're, you know, going a plane with it.

[00:37:08] I'm going, yeah, this is like this episode.

[00:37:12] You know, Valerie Wife, the director was cracking up as it's like where I was referring to very specific moments from measure of a man.

[00:37:19] She goes, wow, you are a geek, aren't you?

[00:37:25] And it was, you know, that was already that preparation.

[00:37:30] Preparation for near or to, I think I've mentioned this before, where I was been pulling different parts from people from guidance, you know, how guidance has that smile that always kind of hides.

[00:37:42] You never know what's really going on behind it.

[00:37:45] Of course, I just focused to go and the rhythms that times when he's trying to drum in a certain point.

[00:37:53] Of course, the cardin is in passion speeches.

[00:37:57] You know, that it's just pulling from all of these great.

[00:38:00] And I also happen to have a brother who's a lawyer.

[00:38:06] Yeah, who owns a lot of it.

[00:38:08] It was funny because I was still under NDA and I just went, I called him.

[00:38:14] I'm going, so I can't tell you what I couldn't tell the most playing a lawyer in space.

[00:38:19] But, you know, I would be playing a lawyer, what are some things?

[00:38:27] And one of the most brilliant things that if you go back and you watch, you'll see it in there and he goes, well, I shouldn't, he says to me, I shouldn't have to tell you, it's theater.

[00:38:36] And I'm like, oh, he's like, no, it's a stage when you get up there, you're performing.

[00:38:43] And just bring that to it.

[00:38:45] And so there was a nice, and I love that they trusted me with this because there was a nice structure to position between the quiet moments and things that she has with line.

[00:38:57] You know, and when she's in more private spaces versus then she gets on to the stage.

[00:39:03] And she brings props like the book and you know, things like that.

[00:39:09] I was very much able to lean into that and it was such a great piece of advice because yes, I have had many lawyers come up to me and go, no, she sounded convincing, I believe.

[00:39:20] That's perfect.

[00:39:23] Oh, we got a couple more calls here. Here is our friend Melanie.

[00:39:28] Hi guys, hello, you're T either. This is Melanie from Germany again.

[00:39:31] It's so cool, you're the guest on this awesome podcast today.

[00:39:37] I actually don't have any questions, at least not right now.

[00:39:41] But all I want to say is that a friend and I will be really appreciate what you've done with your role of Nira Ketul.

[00:39:48] She's inspiring badass and the lawyer we would call if we need a lawyer.

[00:39:53] You have a presence there and the way you did the speeches and the courtroom, wow, it was terrific.

[00:39:58] It was such an amazingly awesome job.

[00:40:02] You know, we would love to see more of Nira like in a spin-off like Lauren Order of Star Trek.

[00:40:08] She's such a fascinating character and her relationship with Una and the way both strive for the same ideas of fairness and stressors

[00:40:16] but taking different paths there. Well, it was just amazing singing on this screen.

[00:40:20] I really would like to know more about her backstory.

[00:40:23] Anyway, it didn't. Thank you for bringing this awesome character to our screen.

[00:40:27] I wish you all the best for the future, live long and prosper.

[00:40:31] There's a long and prosper.

[00:40:35] Wow, Melanie. This is seriously, you're just warmed my heart.

[00:40:39] Thank you. Thank you so much. That's such lovely thing.

[00:40:43] I shouldn't, you know, for my, for my sense of well-being hanging out with you,

[00:40:48] it seems like that would be a great time.

[00:40:52] But I agree, listen, I think in Star Trek a lot of order might happen to be a thing.

[00:40:57] I mean, you know, going through and really examining the foundations of the Federation and what it's built on

[00:41:04] and really examining it.

[00:41:07] What if it's doing things in the right way?

[00:41:11] It actually, to me, falls right into the ideas of Star Trek.

[00:41:14] So, you know, they're trying to better ourselves and trying to see where we're making mistakes

[00:41:20] and see how we can change that.

[00:41:23] So I don't think it's very far out.

[00:41:26] And I do have that in the Star Trek world.

[00:41:29] So, so thank you.

[00:41:31] Melanie, and if Nira wanted to go around traveling,

[00:41:36] I could just see her being that kind of reluctant like they come together.

[00:41:40] You know, she is like, but the Federation,

[00:41:43] and they're like, how to exactly why we need you because we don't reveret in a certain way.

[00:41:48] And so help us examine it.

[00:41:50] We need someone who has a different viewpoint.

[00:41:57] So, we're pitching it now, I guess.

[00:41:59] Yeah, we have so many petitions to start you guys.

[00:42:04] We're going to need to get another person in here.

[00:42:07] We need to lower it, keep track of all this.

[00:42:09] We need to lower it.

[00:42:12] John, let's hear from our very good friend Abby next.

[00:42:15] Absolutely, here we go.

[00:42:17] Hey, open Pike. It's Abby somewhere from the first flight podcast.

[00:42:21] First of all, I want to say that Ed Astro Peruspera is a classic trek episode.

[00:42:26] And I think it's going to be high in the ranks of strange new world episodes overall,

[00:42:31] whenever the series concludes.

[00:42:33] But what I really want to ask about today is costumes,

[00:42:36] which is no surprise to anyone at the Open Pike team,

[00:42:39] because I always love the costumes.

[00:42:41] But the costume being in this episode,

[00:42:43] besides possibly being my favorite dress uniforms of all time,

[00:42:47] Holy cow, I want to lower as sharp as this one.

[00:42:51] Could you talk a little bit about the costume being in how it helps you find your character

[00:42:55] or portray your character and did you get to keep anything?

[00:43:00] Because every part of that down to the accessories was impeccable.

[00:43:04] And I know I might have tried to, you know, just walk away with some because,

[00:43:08] wow, amazing.

[00:43:09] So, I hope this finds all of you in yours well,

[00:43:11] and we'll talk soon.

[00:43:14] Hey, we thank you for that question,

[00:43:17] because now I can brush about Bernadette Croft,

[00:43:20] the costume designer on strange new worlds.

[00:43:24] And, you know, we started,

[00:43:26] I think I was originally in Spain, and she's like,

[00:43:29] okay, we need a zoom.

[00:43:31] And I'm going to try and get your measurements

[00:43:33] that we're going to start talking through some stuff,

[00:43:36] you know, way before you even get into town.

[00:43:38] And yes, the costumes were very intentional.

[00:43:42] They were very, I mean,

[00:43:43] I was kind of cracking up earlier this year,

[00:43:47] because I felt like a lot of the style found its way into.

[00:43:50] I'm looking at boba, I'm looking at all these things,

[00:43:52] and I'm going, you know, that seems inspired by Bernadette Croft's designs.

[00:43:57] But, you know, to am I, you know, what do I know about the fashion industry?

[00:44:02] But she, it was very intentional in that narrow,

[00:44:06] and it was not someone that shines away.

[00:44:09] She's no shrinking blouse of violet.

[00:44:12] She very much is proud of her,

[00:44:15] her, Larry and Heritage.

[00:44:18] And she was someone that was always going to show up fully

[00:44:21] as herself, not trying to blend in anyway

[00:44:26] and go on notice.

[00:44:28] And so every piece we talk through every piece of jewelry,

[00:44:31] every, you know,

[00:44:34] and everyone was doing that.

[00:44:36] That's everyone from a hair, Daniel Lasko,

[00:44:40] to make up, go Shaboyd,

[00:44:43] and it was all things that said this woman is proud of who she is

[00:44:48] and she's coming into a space of saying, see me?

[00:44:51] Whether you like it or not, I'm here.

[00:44:55] And you're going to deal with me as I am.

[00:44:58] All of these things were thought through

[00:45:00] that the hair would even cut of the hair in the sharpness of that,

[00:45:04] and would costume because we looked at the courtroom

[00:45:07] and how there were many circular round spaces

[00:45:10] and for her to come in with angles being juxtaposed with that.

[00:45:15] Even the nails and the angles on the nails was intentional.

[00:45:20] And they were stick on nails,

[00:45:21] and I was so worried about them.

[00:45:24] If you see my hands right now,

[00:45:25] I have very short nails.

[00:45:26] I've never had a hot meal.

[00:45:28] So they have these pressons and I'm going,

[00:45:31] you know, trying to move things on set in character

[00:45:34] and I'm going, I don't want everyone to have to stop every five minutes

[00:45:37] because you need to need to put her nails back on.

[00:45:42] And there was one moment where one did disappear.

[00:45:45] They had made doubles but for some reason that finger

[00:45:48] we didn't have it.

[00:45:49] And so those crew wonderful, incredible crew.

[00:45:53] Thank you.

[00:45:54] Thank you all.

[00:45:54] It was just, they were crawling into corners.

[00:45:56] We're looking for like anywhere the smoke nail had gone

[00:46:01] that Scotia had made but Valerie was the director.

[00:46:04] Didn't insist.

[00:46:05] There was a moment at the beginning where I was handling

[00:46:07] the briefcase as I was doing all that.

[00:46:09] And I was concerned that I would hold up production.

[00:46:12] And I was going, you know,

[00:46:12] maybe we don't do the nails and Valerie said,

[00:46:14] no, you know what?

[00:46:15] This is, this is Neera.

[00:46:19] Right.

[00:46:20] And it's funny to hear your director saying,

[00:46:22] this is, I only lost that nail.

[00:46:25] What?

[00:46:25] Because the rest of the time is true.

[00:46:26] This is Neera.

[00:46:28] These are extensions of who she is.

[00:46:31] And so it became all part of the character.

[00:46:34] And what people didn't see is we're laughing

[00:46:37] thing I would need a leaning post like they used to have

[00:46:41] for the actresses in the thirties or something because

[00:46:43] I couldn't sit with a lot of the staff

[00:46:46] because they would think up,

[00:46:48] so you just see me posted up in corners like this.

[00:46:50] And I was like, you know,

[00:46:51] you're just kind of leaving against the wall.

[00:46:55] Because I'm sitting down.

[00:46:57] The only time.

[00:46:59] And so that also meant because a lot of what people missed

[00:47:04] to with a shoes, the shoes were amazing.

[00:47:08] They got some really cool things.

[00:47:09] So you don't see them all the time.

[00:47:11] But of course they then asked if they

[00:47:12] character because it's certain where you stand and you now

[00:47:14] move the way you walk becomes,

[00:47:17] you know, a whole different thing because you got

[00:47:18] these shoes on and you got to respect them.

[00:47:21] But they also pinch a lot.

[00:47:23] So in between, you would have these lovely crew members

[00:47:26] pulling as I'm leaning against the wall, pulling off my boot.

[00:47:30] And then also having trying to get them on,

[00:47:33] you know, minutes before they call off some camera.

[00:47:37] And it was just, I looked comical in between.

[00:47:39] But it all came together whenever they called action,

[00:47:43] which is great.

[00:47:45] That's completely agree with that.

[00:47:46] Well, we have one more collar on our stage this evening.

[00:47:51] And that is Mark.

[00:47:53] So here we go.

[00:47:55] Engineer Mark here.

[00:47:56] Welcome to the show of you today.

[00:47:58] It was great meeting you at Trek Long Island.

[00:48:01] All I have is a comment.

[00:48:04] The guys recently did a pilot episode for the top three

[00:48:07] of Strange New Worlds.

[00:48:09] And for me, ad-astroid is firmly that number one.

[00:48:13] Really the essence of a Star Trek episode.

[00:48:16] It asks hard questions on an important subject.

[00:48:20] And everyone associated with Uno works towards that

[00:48:23] in a very positive manner.

[00:48:25] None more than Neera working for the inclusion

[00:48:28] for their people.

[00:48:31] With a bitter convincing from Pike,

[00:48:33] she does that with such an impressive style for sure.

[00:48:37] Even in rewatching it's an episode that still gives me goosebumps.

[00:48:41] The message that instead of excluding

[00:48:43] or even fearing differences,

[00:48:47] we should not only accept but maybe even celebrate them.

[00:48:50] That is something I do understand and believe in.

[00:48:54] For a cast and crew who already set such a high bar on strange New Worlds,

[00:48:59] in ad-astroid you brought a powerful performance that for me

[00:49:02] pushed that bar just that much higher.

[00:49:05] Hope we get to see Neera again on the show at some point.

[00:49:08] Thanks and live longer prosper.

[00:49:11] Thank you, Mark.

[00:49:14] That's so, so lovely.

[00:49:17] So very kind and and you're right bringing it all the way around.

[00:49:23] It did remind me as I read it of the things

[00:49:26] that I fell in love with when I was introduced to Star Trek at a young age.

[00:49:32] To where it had influenced my world view that we could do better.

[00:49:37] We could grow up. We could evolve.

[00:49:40] Yes, it's not always easy but when you take the time to examine different situations and look at them through different lenses

[00:49:49] and understand them that you need that diversity in order to be able to look at it in so many different angles.

[00:49:56] That something quite beautiful can be created.

[00:49:59] It was an absolute honor to be able to be part of this world in the ways in which it has actually influenced

[00:50:07] me. So I had one more question but you basically just answered the whole thing right there and that was for me.

[00:50:19] So instead of that, I am just going to say on behalf of all the colors on behalf of the three of us on behalf of everybody who loves this episode.

[00:50:28] Thank you so much for what you brought to it because they're they're right.

[00:50:32] Like this is a all timer.

[00:50:33] This is one of those episodes that people are going to see and decide, I want to be a lawyer or I want to be an actor.

[00:50:40] I want to tell stories that matter and I'm just deeply grateful that we got some time with you today and some time with you on our screen.

[00:50:48] So thank you so much.

[00:50:50] My gosh. Thank you. Thank you, Jessie for that beautiful.

[00:50:54] That almost seemed like a Picard Impassion.

[00:50:58] You guys heard me? She said it out loud.

[00:51:01] That's another medal on the uniform, guys.

[00:51:08] Truly, truly thank you and it's wonderful to be able to hear this from a group of people I love so much myself.

[00:51:19] I don't I didn't want to disappoint fans in any way in jumping into the world and the responses been so heartwarming and it has definitely continued to film my sense of purpose.

[00:51:32] So thank you.

[00:51:34] Thank you absolutely and thank you and of course open pack night is an open mic night theme podcast and so we do ask our guests to bring us and tell us a joke.

[00:51:43] You need to be a doc and do you have a joke for us today.

[00:51:46] Okay, so you know you can tell stand up is really my background no I'm teasing I'm very much teasing.

[00:51:53] But there is always always a joke and I'm going to relate this back to the profession that I've chosen but there's always a joke amongst my gerions of there's only really three professions that Nigerian children are allowed, which is Dr. Lawyer or disgrace to the family.

[00:52:12] I chose.

[00:52:15] I obviously chose this place in the family but it worked out so I've been very lucky.

[00:52:20] Have you played a doctor yet because you've got the lawyer?

[00:52:23] I haven't done a doctor yet so I've done a nurse but Dr. I feel it's coming soon.

[00:52:29] Mm-hmm.

[00:52:30] Which means you're you.

[00:52:33] Is there anything you'd like to promote speaking of things coming up?

[00:52:38] Yes, I believe you already heard in Long Island as well.

[00:52:43] I'm producing executive producer and starring in a series based on the 17th century queen in what is now Angola.

[00:52:53] A fierce warrior queen who was a brilliant tactician and she burst onto the scene and shook a lot of things up.

[00:53:03] Her name is Queen Zinga and that's also the name of the series and I'm developing that with lion's gate and stars and I cannot wait for people to see it.

[00:53:13] It's going to be something.

[00:53:16] Sounds like it.

[00:53:17] Can we see that either?

[00:53:22] So yes, check it out.

[00:53:24] Thank you.

[00:53:24] You see today for being with us today. This was a great conversation.

[00:53:27] I'm glad we could make it happen.

[00:53:29] I'm so glad we went again. Thanks for your patience and getting here but we did it.

[00:53:33] We did it.

[00:53:36] Whatever it takes.

[00:53:37] Whatever it takes.

[00:53:39] All right, you all have an amazing day and really, really thank you so much really.

[00:53:44] That was a great interview and we had some great collars and Jesse.

[00:53:48] We do one other people to be great collars on our show. How can they do that?

[00:53:52] The easiest way for them to do that is to just go to openpike.com.

[00:54:19] You can hear John and I over at GreenShirt and we've tracked through the next generation

[00:54:23] where I'm making my way through TNG for the first time.

[00:54:26] I'm a bit behind where you to get it was.

[00:54:28] But I've got single digit number of episodes left to watch RTNG.

[00:54:33] It's kind of hit me last night when I was watching Dine Ownself.

[00:54:37] That was number 10.

[00:54:38] So now it's just single digits guys.

[00:54:40] It's crazy.

[00:54:41] I love that episode.

[00:54:42] I freaking love that episode.

[00:54:43] I'm so excited.

[00:54:55] Well, it has been a long night and the openpike night crew

[00:54:59] has to go play in our case before Space Judges because man.

[00:55:04] We've been getting judged pretty harshly lately and we got to go tell them off.

[00:55:07] I'm sure we'll do just a good job as UTD did in that episode.

[00:55:12] So be sure to clean up after yourselves.

[00:55:14] Be sure to take your servers.

[00:55:15] You can go anywhere you want but you can't stay here.

[00:55:18] And they tried to keep it from you but I am on the next episode of GreenShirt.

[00:55:22] Just keep that in mind.

[00:55:23] That's true.

[00:55:24] That's true.

[00:55:25] That's right.

[00:55:26] I'm sorry.

[00:55:54] Thank you.
